7 Steps to Effective Email (network marketing) Marketing

By Eugene Ye

Effective email marketing steps are sought after by beginners in internet marketing as well as experienced marketers. Leads you have captured and built a list with are sales just waiting to happen. How do you squeeze those sales out of your prospects and turn your email list into a pile of cash? It is easier than you’d imagine.

There are 7 effective email marketing steps you should always consider when marketing to your list. You will be surprised by how simple some of them are.

Step 1: Grab their attention with a head-turning headline. If you are offering free products or bonuses that is great - but it won’t necessarily get them to open your email and buy your product and get that free bonus. If you have trouble coming up with ideas try visiting news sites and looking at the headlines that appeal the most to you, try replicating whatever device they use to make you open the link to the article or video.

Step 2: Make use of the information you have. If you are marketing to your list in a general way and not including their name in the sales message you send them, you are losing customers. If you use a service like Aweber or GetResponse for building and marketing to your list make sure you include the variables that display the leads first and/or last name. This personalizes the message and can help conversions.

Step 3: Construct your sales letter with minimal hype. Never make your list regret subscribing to your newsletter - this tends to happen a lot. If you are interested in hard selling your list make sure you do it in a casual and realistic fashion. Never attach pictures of ‘your’ brand new car or mansion for example.

Step 4: Offer priceless content they would normally pay money for. This is easier than it sounds and a lot of people are discouraged by this idea. Many people don’t know how to provide such good content. Try making a video about how to complete a simple marketing concept or idea, write a small report and send it to your list, give them information they probably do not have and it will be perceived as highly valuable.

Step 5: Stop cloaking affiliate links if you are selling affiliate products. If you are marketing to internet marketers they already know about affiliate links and cloaking them - they are going to notice you doing it too. Be upfront if you are selling an affiliate product and your prospect will be a lot more likely to click through and make you money.

Step 6: Speak to your list as if they were a close friend you were mentoring. If you are in the internet marketing niche then you are speaking to a crowd who is learning new things daily and they want a mentor, not a salesperson breathing down their neck.

Step 7: Always send your marketing emails as HTML and track your clicks, if you have the option with the service you use. This can help you to optimize your sales emails in the future and see what works best. Consider split testing as well. Send half of your list one version of a sales letter and send the other half a different one. Test the response.
